AP Top 25 College Football Rankings Week 3: USC Keeps Top Spot, Oklahoma Sooners Climb to #2 as UGA Drops
The USC Trojans convincing 35-3 victory over then #5 Ohio State on Saturday solidified their spot as the nation’s top team while the Oklahoma Sooners jumped one spot ahead of the #3 Georgia Bulldogs after dismantling Washington 55-14.
Mark Sanchez ensured the Trojans wouldn’t falter against the highly touted Buckeyes of Ohio State as he tossed four touchdowns in the rout and earned USC 61 first-place votes in the AP Top 25 Week 3 rankings.
Sam Bradford mirrored the effort of Sanchez as he threw five TD passes and added a rushing touchdown to carry the Oklahoma Sooners to an easy 55-14 win and bump the school past Georgia for the #2 spot this week.
Despite earning 14-7 road win against SEC foe South Carolina the Georgia Bulldogs fell to #3 while the idle Florida Gators remained at #4 in the AP Top 25 with a big road game against Tennessee looming next week.
Chase Daniel’s four touchdown passes paced the Missouri Tigers to a 69-7 rout of Nevada and moved the school to #5 in the AP Top 25 while the LSU Tigers also jumped a spot to #6 after an easy 41-3 victory over North Texas,
Wisconsin jumped two spots to #10 this week after the Badgers beat then #21 Fresno State 13-10.
South Florida jumped seven spots in the AP Top 25 after their impressive 37-34 win over then #13 Kansas on Friday night.
Following their overtime loss to UNLV the Arizona State Sun Devils dropped from #15 right out of the rankings while California saw their time in the Top 25 end after falling to Maryland.
