Carlos Zambrano Tosses No-Hitter in Chicago Cubs Win Over Houston Astros

Carlos Zambrano threw a no-hitter Sunday night, striking out ten while walking just one as the Chicago Cubs beat the Houston Astros 5-0.

Zambrano became the first Cubs pitcher to toss a no-hitter since Milt Pappas put up zeros against the San Diego Padres in 1972.

Sunday’s game was played at Miller Park in Milwaukee as a result of Hurricane Ike and the while the Brewers are still chasing the Cubs the crowd, mostly Chicago faithful, celebrated the big right-hander’s achievement.

Zambarno struck out Darin Erstad to end the game, dropped to his knees and pointed to the sky while his teammates rushed to the mound.

Zambrano improved to 14-5 on the year and Chicago has a 7.5-game lead over the Brewers.
