Stocks Announcing Dividends

Legg Mason, Inc. (NYSE:LM) slid 0.51% to $30.94. The company announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend on its common stock in the amount of $0.06 per share. The dividend is payable on January 10, 2011 to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 15, 2010.

The stock went up more than 2% year-to-date. At current market price, the market capitalization of the company stands at $4.78 billion.

RPC, Inc. (NYSE:RES) dropped 0.30% to $23.44. The company announced that its Board of Directors have declared a 16.7% increase in the regular quarterly cash dividend from $0.06 per share to $0.07 per share payable December 10, 2010 to common stockholders of record at the close of business on November 10, 2010. The dividend will be paid on pre-split shares.  

The stock opened at $24.13 and has a 52-week range of $9.15-$24.43. The stock went up more than 119% year-to-date.

UMB Financial Corporation (NASDAQ:UMBF) fell 0.44% to $36.23. The Board of Directors declared at its quarterly meeting yesterday an increase in its quarterly cash dividend to $0.195 per share, $0.78 annualized. The dividend is a 5.4% increase over the current rate of $0.185.

The dividend is payable on December 30, 2010 to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 10, 2010. The ex-dividend date is December 8, 2010.

The stock went down more than 8% year-to-date.
