Richard Wright, Founding Member of Pink Floyd, Dies at Age of 65

Richard Wright, a founding member of the legendary rock group Pink Floyd, has died after a short battle with cancer. Wright was 65.

 

Wright, whose keyboard style was part of the unique blend of sound made famous by the band, appeared on Pink Floyds first album “The Piper at the Gates of Dawn” in 1967 and wrote several songs throughout his career with the band, including tracks on “Dark Side of the Moon” and “Wish You Were Here.”

 

Wright, along with Syd Barrett, Roger Waters and Nick Mason were the founding members of Pink Floyd.
