Casey Anthony Back Behind Bars, Charged with “Economic Crimes” Tied to Check Fraud Case

Casey Anthony, mother of missing three-year-old Caylee Anthony, turned herself in to Orange County, Florida police on Monday and placed behind bars yet again after being charged with crimes tied to a fraud case.

Casey Anthony has been called a suspect in Caylee’s disappearance but no formal charges have been filed. She has been charged with child neglect and lying to prosecutors and she has spent more than a month in jail on those charges but was freed after a $500,000 bond was posted.

The 22-year-old was re-arrested on charges of check fraud unrelated to her daughter’s disappearance and the original bondsman revoked her bond. A second bondsman then posted the $500,000 as well as the bond for the fraud charges to earn her freedom yet again.

On Monday Casey turned herself in and was placed in the Orange County Jail but she could be freed by day’s end if bond is posted. She is scheduled to appear in court on the fraud charges Tuesday.

In June Caylee Anthony, then two-years-old, disappeared but it would be another month before Casey Anthony reported her daughter missing. Casey told investigators she had left Caylee with a babysitter and when she returned to pick her up both were gone.

Investigators released tapes of their first interviews with Casey Anthony on Monday and those tapes showed they doubted hr story from the beginning.

Police now believe Caylee Anthony is dead after forensic evidence taken from the trunk of a vehicle Casey was driving indicated human decomposition and DNA evidence directly linked to the young girl.
