Victor Roa Hairstylist to Two of WWPR 2010 Woman of the Year Finalists

Victor Roa, the noted Master Hair Designer, scores as two of his long-time clients figure among the three nominees for the 2010 Woman of the Year Award by the Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR).

For the nominees vying for the top public relations prize for women in the Washington Metropolitan Area, success just doesn't mean an outstanding portfolio.

Their business acumen extends to choices they make in their personal life, and a professional hair designer is one of them. So you can bet that if Debra Silimeo or Donna Vincent Roa, sporting their stylish coiffures, walk off with the 2010 PR Woman of the Year Award, Victor Roa, a Master Hair Designer, will applaud with pride for either woman.

Victor, who has been featured on Bravo TV and is a Vidal Sassoon-trained stylist, believes hair design is an art that can transform clients and project their unique personalities, from celebrities on the red carpet to pinstripe-suited professionals.

Victor is a long-time hair designer of Debra, a senior vice president at Washington, D.C. communications company Hager Sharp, and Donna, his wife and the managing partner and chief strategist at the Maryland-based eco-communications firm Vincent Roa Group. The two have been shortlisted for the prestigious annual award for the Washington Metropolitan Area by the Washington Women in Public Relations, which is the first and only D.C.-based professional organization advancing women in the communications industry.

“For everyone in public relations, it’s critical to have the trust and confidence of your clients. The same principle is true when it comes to the professionals you rely on in your personal life, especially when it comes to appearance,” said Debra Silimeo.

“Victor is a consummate professional and an artist. He brings a world-class eye to his work. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to look like the top of their game.”

Donna agreed. “Victor knows that hair communicates. He also understands the importance of personal branding and works to create signature hairstyles that enhance image. He does hair right,” she noted.

Named one of the best bridal stylists in the DC Metro area by the Washingtonian Magazine, Victor is frequently sought out by Kennedy Center visiting performers, as well as media personalities, celebrities, brides and others who want to step out in style. He is a certified hair extension master and trainer, and has taught more than 400 stylists throughout the US.

Victor’s exploits are numerous: he was an On-Stage Feature Stylist and Special Invitation Only Presenter at Intercoiffure Nouveau's Tribute to Scott Cole, Intercoiffure Creative Director in New York, a Top Ten Intercoiffure Noveau Timeless Classic National Finalist, and Top Seven Intercoiffure Generation Next Award - National Finalist.

Victor practices his art at Studio 355 Hair & Day Spa in Rockville/North Bethesda, Maryland. He will be attending the WWPR Woman of the Year Award ceremony on Nov. 10, 2010, at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Washington, D.C. Dee Dee Myers, former White House press secretary, will serve as the keynote speaker.
