National-Oilwell Varco, Inc.
(NYSE:NOV) soared 3.79% to $54 after it made its
new 52-week high of $54.59. The company reported that for the third quarter
ended September 30, 2010 it earned net income of $404 million, or $0.96 per
fully diluted share, compared to second quarter ended June 30, 2010 net income
of $401 million, or $0.96 per fully diluted share.
The
stock went up more than 21% year-to-date.
Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE:RHT)
added 2.88% to $42.46 after it made its new 52-week high of $42.50. Earlier
this month, the company that its fiscal second-quarter net income dropped to
$23.7 million, or 12 cents a share, from $28.9 million, or 15 cents a share, in
the year-earlier quarter. On an adjusted basis, the company earned 19 cents per
share in the latest quarter.
Revenue
rose 20% to $219.8 million from $183.63 million. Analysts, on average, expected
the company to report earnings of 14 cents per share on revenue of $211.49
million.
