Teradyne,
Inc. (NYSE:TER) added 1.19% to $11.89. The company said
Wednesday its third-quarter net income jumped to $147.3 million or 66 cents a
share, from $6.7 million, or 4 cents a share in the same period last year.
Analysts polled by FactSet Research had expected
Teradyne to report earnings of 79 cents a share, and $508 million in revenue.

Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:FTI) surged 1.52% to $73.27 after
the Company said late Wednesday its third-quarter profit fell to $81.4 million,
or 67 cents a share, from $92.2 million, or 73 cents a share, in the same
quarter last year.
Analysts polled by FactSet Research expected the
company to earn 67 cents a share on revenue of $1.01 billion. The company
raised its full-year 2010 guidance to a range of $2.90 to $2.95 a share, from
its previous guidance of $2.70 to $2.90 a share.
Over the past 52-week, the stock traded within the
range of $46.16-$76.54. At today`s closing market price, the market
capitalization of the company stands at $8.79 billion.
Sourcefire, Inc. (NASDAQ:FIRE) fell
2.36% and closed at $30.99. The company late Wednesday reported its
third-quarter net income jumped to $4.2 million or 15 cents a share, from $2.7
million, or 9 cents a share, in the same quarter last year.
The
company expects profit in a range of 14 cents to 16 cents a share and 16 cents
to 18 cents a share on an adjusted basis while revenue is projected to come in
at $37 million to $38.5 million in the fourth quarter.
