New York to Increase Tolls in 2011

Drivers using the Queens Midtown tunnel and the Throgs Neck bridge crossings can expect to pay a little more starting next year. 

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority passed a vote to increase tolls for those paying in cash by a dollar from $5.50 to $6.50.  Drivers using the EZ Pass system will also see an increase from $4.57 to $4.80. 

The vote was passed nearly unanimously with twelve votes for the increase and only one vote against.
