Northwestern University Dean Warns Students About Racism

Dean Burgwell Howard of Northwestern University has e-mailed the school's students warning against offensive costumes over Halloween weekend. 

After pictures of two students in blackface caused a controversy last year, Dean Howard would like to keep students from repeating the same mistakes. 

The email specifically warned against racially and culturally insensitive costumes, but went on to warn about theme parties.  "Ghetto," "Gangsta" and "Pimps" parties were among the themes mentioned in the letter.
