Washington, DC Program to Offer Free Cab Rides for Halloween

The Washington Post reported that cab rides will be available to Washington, DC area residents from 10pm on Saturday until 6am on Sunday morning.  The program, SoberRides, is provided by theWashington Regional Alcohol Program to reduce the number of drunk driving incidents encountered on the booze-filled holiday.

Taxis will provide rides equivalent to a $30 fare for people who are 21 years of age or older and may be too heavily under the influence to drive themselves.  SoberRide is available throughout the city as well as into the suburbs of Virginia and Maryland.
