Texas Provides Public Access to Wild River

State of Texas looks to aquire Devils River Ranch

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has issued a proposal to a Dallas businessman to trade properties.  The Dallas man currently owns the 17,000 acre Devils River Ranch.  In exchange for the Ranch, the Parks and Wildlife Department has offered a West Texas natural area of 20,000 acres in addition to $8 million.

The deal would provide the public with access to the state's only remaining wild river should it go through, said Scott Boruff of the Parks and Wildlife Department.
