Boston Celtics Players Fight After Practice
According to multiple reports, Delante West of the Boston Celtics entered into a physical altercation with Celtics teammate Von Wafer on Friday. Director of basketball operations Danny Ainge confirmed this to the Boston Herald.
According to hoopsworld.com, the two players were guarding each other in a 3-on-3 when West repeatedly fouled Wafer. After the game, West reportedly followed Wafer into the locker room and delivered the first punch before the two began to wrestle.
Sources told Hoopsworld that the Celtics are considering releasing West,
but Ainge reportedly told the Boston Herald that the Celtics have no
such plans.
"There was something that happened, and we're handling it internally,"
said Ainge. "We're happy with Delonte and Von
and how they've been playing, and today was unacceptable."
After the altercation, Wafer tweeted, "Today was a test! . . . I am a professional and will continue to conduct myself as one . . . God has a plan for me."
Apparently, this is not the first time that West and Wafer have encountered a problem with one another. West reportedly told Wafer to "Do something about it" after Wafer became agitated during a 2-on-2 last week.
