U.S. Missile Attack in Pakistan Kills at least Six

A U.S. missile strike on a reported militant training camp in northwest Pakistan has killed at least six people and injured more than six.

The four missiles fired at the village of Baghar Cheena were launched by a drone and have further increased the tension that exists between the United States and Pakistan. Just hours before the attack top U.S. military officer Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, assured Pakistani officials that the U.S. would respect the sovereignty of Pakistan and would not carry out attacks inside its border with Afghanistan.

Pakistan has expressed frustration with the growing number of attacks launched by the United States within their borders. On Tuesday the Pakistani army was given orders to open fire on U.S. troops carrying out raids.

The tribal region in which the raids have been carried out is known as a haven for Islamist militants who move between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
