The U.S. Putting Tour announced that it is planning to hold several 2011 USPT National Championship qualifying events in the Coachella Valley this winter.
With over 70 golf courses in the Coachella Valley and some of the best golf in the nation between November and April, the U.S. Putting Tour expects to hold as many as 20 qualifying events during the winter season.
The Coachella Valley encompasses Palm Springs, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indio and other well known Southern California golf communities about a two hour drive east of Los Angeles.
Golf courses, men’s and ladies’ clubs and individuals are eligible to host USPT qualifying events. Information on holding USPT putting tournaments can be found at the U.S. Putting Tour’s website. Interested parties also can email info@usputtingtour.com.
The U.S. Putting Tour is an amateur putting tour in which men and women compete together for the national title of America’s Best Putter and the USPT National Championship trophy, as well as prizes and merchandise in accordance with the USGA’s rules on amateur status.
Winners of the official qualifying events advance to the finals of the 2011 USPT National Championship in September in Carlsbad, California. Individuals seeking a golf income opportunity also are eligible to run USPT qualifying events.
