Randy Moss: "Who ordered this crap?"

Vikings Receiver Made Rude Comments

NFL wide receiver Randy Moss might have been abruptly waived by the Minnesota Vikings at least partly because of some rude comments he made about a local restaurant's food the Friday before.

According to a report from Yahoo! Sports, Moss made some rude comments about a local restaurant that catered food to the Vikings team on Friday. A player who witnessed the incident told Yahoo! Sports that, while the other players were lining up to serve themselves food, Moss yelled, "What the [expletive]? Who ordered this crap? I wouldn't feed this to my dog."

The witness told Yahoo! Sports that "This wasn't a chain -- it was a mom-and-pop restaurant, and you could tell it was their best stuff. And [Moss] is at his locker saying, 'You know, I used to have to eat that crap -- but now I've got money.' You just felt so sad for them. I had never seen anyone treated like that.

"And by the way, the food was actually really good."

A source who was at the team meeting on Monday, in which Vikings coach Brad Childress told his team that Moss was being waived, said that it was clear Childress was talking about Moss's behavior on Friday when he said, "This just doesn't fit with how we treat people, how we talk to people and how we act."

So was Moss waived because he insulted the food provided by a local restaurant? It seems unlikely that this is the sole reason. Many reports have cited Moss's lackluster in-game efforts and his post-game media comments for the main reasons. But his comments on Friday may have very well been at least part of the reason why Moss is now in search of a different NFL team just weeks after he joined the Vikings.
