Meghann Robinson first picked up a guitar with the intent of learning it five years ago. After learning a few chords she began to write music as an expression of her life’s experiences. She describes her music as folk rock with country influences claiming inspiration from Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, Patty Griffin, Ani DiFranco, Antigone Rising and Natalie Merchant.
With no set song writing process, Robinson writes as the music comes to her. Sometimes the melody, the guitar or the words come to mind first. Then when she sits down to write it the music, it “just channels through” her. Other times she consciously tries to write music which sometimes comes easy, and sometimes proves to be frustrating. Regardless of the method, Robinson tries to express emotions and ideas that her fans can relate to and understand.
