The U.S. Geological Survey reported early Wednesday morning that a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck off Indonesia. The quake hit off the eastern coast. No other details, including the location of the epicenter, were immediately available. There were no immediate reports of injuries or deaths.
Wednesday’s earthquake was the second to hit Indonesia in the past two weeks. On October 25, a 7.7 magnitude tremor struck off the coast of Sumatra Island and caused a tsunami that killed at least 431 people.
