A Michigan woman says she decided to sell a letter from President Obama because her family needed the money to help pay down mounting debts. Jennifer Cline, who lost her job as a pharmacy technician in 2007 and has been unemployed since, sold the letter to an autograph collector for $7,000.
“I needed to do what’s best for my family,” the mom of 2 says of her decision to sell the letter.
In the letter, President Obama promised “things will be better,” but Cline and her husband’s situation has not improved. Cline says she has applied and been turned down for nearly 50 jobs since being laid off. The Clines say they still support Obama.
