Miami Heat Defeat Minnesota Timberwolves 129-97
Miami Heat Win 4th Straight Game
The Miami Heat scored their 4th straight win on Tuesday night by defeating Michael Beasley and the Minnesota Timberwolves 129-97. The game started off looking somewhat promising for the Timberwolves, with Beasley outscoring LeBron James early in the game. But things were looking grim for the T-wolves by the end of the first half, with Wade and the gang leading 69 to 53.
Dwyane Wade led both teams in scoring with 26. As usual, he played a key role in leading the Heat to victory. LeBron James started off slow with scoring but he was able to deliver a franchise record 12 assists, the most ever by a Miami Heat forward. He also ended up contributing 20 points on 12-for-15 shooting, including 5 out of 6 attempted three pointers.
"Just taking what the defense gives me," said James, who is still trying to gel with the Miami Heat teammates and style of play. "I think D-Wade
carried the scoring load in the first half, and when you have that, you
don't have to worry about scoring as much. I just tried to attract as
much defense as possible. I know there's not one guy that can stop me
from getting to anywhere on the floor."
The Heat put on a three-point shooting clinic during their blowout against Minnesota. James Jones scored 15 points from five 3-pointers, while Eddie House went 4-for-4 from the three point range. Not to mention James' 5 of 6 3-pointers mentioned earlier.
Kevin Love led Minnesota scoring with 20 points from 7-for-11 shooting. Sebastian Talfer and Wes Johnson each contributed 13 points, while the Timberwolves' leading rebounder Nikola Pekovic scored 12 points. Michael Beasley, who got off to an impressive start early in the game, unfortunately was sent out of the game after falling hard on his hip, which is now bruised.
"We have a lot of young guys on our team," Minnesota coach Rambis said. "They got a
taste of guarding some of the elite players in our league. Our team got a
taste of just how powerful a team can be."
