Dawna Lee Heising of Eye on Entertainment recently interviewed Richard Myles and Mischa Perez of Viper Productions about DeadZone Magazine, the Apple iPhone's first and only interactive horror magazine, and about their upcoming film Mental Scars 2. Viper Productions Publications developed DeadZone Magazine to play on Apple iPhones and all other Apple devices. What distinguishes DeadZone Magazine is that it plays scary music while readers look at movie reviews, with each page vibrating when turned, and there is a video element that plays movie trailers, slide shows, and other promos. DeadZone Magazine features exclusive interviews from celebrities and independent film makers, actors, actresses, make-up artists, producers, directors, music composers, fine artists, and many more from around world. Every issue has something exciting from the horror community.
Founded in 2007 by Myles and Perez, Viper Productions also announced that the sequel to their cult classic Mental Scars will begin production in the spring of 2011. Mental Scars 2 will star Myles and Said Faraj and will be directed by Perez. Famous psychic Ron Bard will co-produce Mental Scars 2. The original movie has been described by many as a true reflection of the old 80’s slasher horror films with a modern flair.
Viper Productions executive Richard Myles was born in Niagara Falls, New York, and currently resides in West Henrietta, New York. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from State University College at Buffalo, New York in 1996 and in 2001, earned a Master of Science degree, School Counseling Education, from Niagara University with a G.P.A. of. 3.94 Kappa Delta Pi honors. Myles' career expanded when he assumed the role as "Jason Voorhees" in Blinky Productions' second fan film “Friday the 31st. This fan film has accrued over 4 million downloads from fans worldwide via the internet.
Ron Bard is the first and only psychic to have been listed in Forbes Magazine. He is the son of the famous Yolana Bard (the New York "Queen of Psychics") and trained under Hans Holzer, famous noted paranormal researcher. Bard has provided psychic advice for such celebrities as Brad Pitt and Kelsey Grammer, and has been seen in several Japanese documentaries helping the Japanese Police solve murder cases. Bard stated in the Forbes article that he was raised homeless and struggled to create a life for himself. He became a reluctant psychic after his mother discovered his talent while she was doing a psychic reading on one of her own clients. Ron Bard went from homelessness to millionaire status in a short time, and began investing his earnings in larger companies and became very successful.
International actor, Said Faraj, will be featured in Mental Scars II. Faraj was born in Lebanon, and was raised by his aunts because his parents were enduring the civil war in Africa. Faraj came to the land of opportunity, the United States of America, at the age of 17, and has been living in California. His life is an American success story. His first speaking role was in the film "W.B., Blue and the Bean" starring David Hasselhoff. Since then, he's been cast in some of the most monumental films of this generation, including Ghost, Bad Influence, True Romance, The Siege and The Green Zone.
