Knicks score 70 points in first half too much for Bulls to handle

By Peter Tosto

The New York Knicks went into Chicago Thursday night after their Tuesday night game against the Orlando Magic was canceled due to asbestos in Madison Square Garden. The Knicks seemed well rested and ready to run the Bulls right off the floor in the first half scoring 70 points.

Knicks were led in the first half by Danilo Gallinari who was shooting lights out in the first half from down town scoring a total of 24 points on the night. Gallinari was followed up in the second half by Tony Douglas who led the Knicks and all scorers with a career high 30 points.

The Knicks shot 16 for 24 from behind the 3 point line making it impossible for the Bulls to get back in it. Derrick Rose sat out at the end of the fourth quarter after Bulls Coach Tom Thibodeau left his bench players on the court after they made a run to pull within 8 points.

Thibodeau and his Bulls head to Boston tonight to face-off against the Celtics where Thibodeau was and assistant coach under Doc Rivers. The Knicks are back at the worlds most famous arena tonight to meet John Wall the number 1 pick in this years draft and the Washington Wizards.

The Knicks will be looking to move to 3 and 2 on the year while the Bulls look to improve to 3 and 2 as well.

Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 24 points and 14 assists in the Bulls loss.

The final score was the Knicks 120 and the Bulls 112.
