Jobs May be Lost in Arizona
Tuscon mayor says public sector may take a hit
The failure of a bill on Tuesday means that there are possibly 400 jobs that are no longer secure. The bill, which would have raised the city sales tax, would have provided an estimated $40 million dollars in the next year.
Mayor Bob Walkup and City Manager Mike Letcher say that as a result of the bill being shot down, the city must find new ways to stay within their budget. With some votes yet to be counted, the bill is failing 62% to 38%.
