Alex Rodriguez and Wife “Amicably” Settle Divorce

Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez and his wife of 6-years Cynthia Scurtis have “amicably” settled their divorce, their lawyers confirm. Terms of the agreement were not released but lawyers for the former couple said all decisions were made in the best interest of their daughters, 3-year-old Natasha and 5-month-old Ella.

“Cynthia and Alex Rodriguez have amicably resolved their dissolution of marriage proceedings. They deliberately engaged in a private negotiation. During the negotiations and resolution all decisions were made with the best interests of their children as the paramount concern,” lawyers for the pair said in a statement.

Scurtis, 35, filed for divorce in July claiming Rodriguez, 33, had “emotionally abandoned” her and their daughters. She also accused the baseball star of having a series of affairs and an “affair of the heart” with singer Madonna.

Scurtis requested to keep their $12 million home in Florida and a cut of his earnings during their marriage. Rodriguez, known as A-Rod to fans, argued that the settlement should abide by their prenup.
