#6 LSU Tigers will battle their SEC rivals, the #10 Auburn Tigers, in the 2008 version of the "Tiger Bowl" on Saturday night.
LSU, the reigning BCS college football national champions, will need this road win if they want to compete for a back-to-back championship. The home team has won this battle in the last eight matchups. The last time LSU won at Auburn was in 1998.
The last time LSU visited Auburn was a 7-3 loss in 2006. LSU was held to 42 yards rushing and just a field goal despite having JaMarcus Russell, the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.
LSU now has two young quarterbacks who split time in Andrew Hatch and Jarrett Lee, but their offense has been led by running back Charles Scott. Scott has rushed for 262 yards and four touchdowns on 11.4 yards per carry, which is fourth-best in the FBS.
LSU comes in with the top scoring and rushing offense in the SEC, while Auburn has the best scoring defense. Auburn is also ninth in the nation in rushing defense and 10th in total defense.
