Notre Dame Fighting Irish will travel to face their rivals, the Michigan State Spartans, on Saturday at 3:30pm EST.
The Fighting Irish are coming off of a big 35-17 win against the Michigan Wolverines last Saturday. Thus far, quarterback Jimmy Clausen is 31-for-55 for 384 yards and five touchdowns.
Notre Dame is just 96th in the nation in total offense, something they will need to increase in order to defeat the Spartans, who are led by running back Javon Ringer. Ringer is third in the nation in rushing yards (498) and first in the Big 10.
Last week, Ringer carried the ball 43 times for 282 yards and two touchdowns against Florida Atlantic. For the season, Ringer is responsible for 60% of MSU's scoring.
Notre Dame has just the 52nd rushing defense in the nation, but like their offense, they will need to kick it into high gear on Saturday. One thing Notre Dame can hang its hat on is that they have yet to allow a single sack on Clausen this season, ranking them first in sacks allowed in the nation.
