Cynthia Rodriguez is “quite happy” with her divorce settlement with Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez, according to a source close to her. Lawyers for the pair released a statement today saying the divorce was “amicably” settled but did not release terms of the settlement.
“Cynthia is in New York for a few days and quite happy with the divorce settlement. It is all settled and each Rodriguez is ready to move on,” the source says.
The 35-year-old filed for divorce in July claiming Rodriguez, 33, had “emotionally abandoned” her and their two daughters. She also accused the baseball star of having a series of affairs and an “affair of the heart” with singer Madonna.
She requested to keep their $12 million home in Florida and a cut of his earnings during their marriage. Rodriguez, known as A-Rod to fans, argued that the settlement should abide by their prenup.
“Cynthia and Alex Rodriguez have amicably resolved their dissolution of marriage proceedings. They deliberately engaged in a private negotiation. During the negotiations and resolution all decisions were made with the best interests of their children as the paramount concern,” lawyers for the pair said in a statement.
