ALPHARETTA, GEORGIA. (November 9, 2010) — Pete’s Plumbing Inc., a family-owned and operated full-service residential and commercial plumbing company that serves Alpharetta, Georgia and nearby areas, announced that it now installs new hybrid water heaters from GE Electric and A.O. Smith, which produce the same amount of hot water as regular water heaters but use half the energy as traditional models.
Julie Lippitt, President of Pete’s Plumbing, said, “We are constantly searching for new green plumbing product solutions for our customers and are pleased to now install these new hybrid water heaters, which provide consumers with a number of benefits over the long term. Since the Office of Energy and Efficiency and Renewable Energy named water heaters as the third largest homeowner expense after air heating and cooling systems, it makes sense to help consumers reduce what can be between 14-15% of their home expenses.”
Hybrid water heaters use technology that helps the heating system absorb heat in the ambient air and then transfer that heat energy to the water for on-demand hot water. These eco-friendly plumbing devices have special features, such as the vacation or away setting, where the water heater drops the temperature setting point to a lower temperature as the most-efficient heating mode to save even more energy while not in use but preventing the water heater from freezing during the cold season.
Lippitt added, “The ability to do the same or more with half the energy will translate to tremendous cost savings for the homeowners. Manufacturers like GE state that their GeospringTM water heater can reduce water heating operating costs by up to 62% and help save up to $300 per year as compared to a standard water heater. And, with federal and state tax rebates still in effect until the end of the year, which means there is still time to save even more money.”
Pete’s Plumbing now offers these heat pump hybrid water heaters from such well-known and respected manufacturers, GE and A.O. Smith. These hybrid water heaters are ENERGY STAR® qualified and can qualify for a federal tax credit of $450 or more, depending on the retail price and installation cost of the heat pump hybrid water heater as well as the homeowner’s income level. State and local tax incentives may also be available within Georgia. The professionals at Pete’s Plumbing have further details about what tax incentives still apply for all hybrid water heaters purchased and installed by December 31, 2010 in the homeowner’s primary residence.
