23-Year-Old Wins $8.94M in World Series of Poker

Jonathan Duhamel Wins Major Poker Tournament

Jonathan Duhamel, a 23-year-old from Canada, won the World Series of Poker main event title on Monday. With the title, he also took home a whopping $8.94 million.

"It's a dream come true right now," Duhamel said after the impressive victory. "It's like the most beautiful day of my life."

Duhamel faced off against John Racener, a professional poker player from Florida in the no-limit Texas Hold 'em tournament. Duhamel won with an ace high.

Racener won $5.5 million for coming in second place.

"I could never get anything going," said Racener, 24. "It was unfortunate and he played it well."

According to a report from the Associated Press, "The tournament started in July with 7,319 players paying $10,000 each to enter."
