November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

In this effort to inform the public about lung cancer, The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) has given its support.  Lung cancer is the leading cause of death in the U.S.  There is an urgent need to educate and continue research on causes and cures for lung diseases.  According to the ADAO, disorders of the lungs are not just caused by smoking.   There are other risk factors to be considered.  Exposure to asbestos causes many forms of incurable lung disease.  Mesothelioma is one of these devastating illnesses.

Surprisingly, lung cancer has gotten very little attention.  It is important to raise public awareness of the fact that lung cancer is not just a smokers’ disease.  Advocacy groups are needed to educate the public about our #1 killer.  ADAO was founded in 2004 by victims of asbestos- related disease to raise public awareness of the exposure to asbestos.  Miners, factory workers, insulation manufacturers, ship builders, construction workers, and auto mechanics can be exposed to asbestos which may cause mesothelioma or other lung maladies.  The ADAO advocates for increase prevention, early detection, new treatments, and other resources for mesothelioma and other asbestos- related lung disease victims.

A person with mesothelioma has the option of a lawyer specializing in mesothelioma litigation.  This type of specialized legal expertise can help with information, doctors, treatments, and compensation from companies responsible for these unsafe asbestos exposure conditions.  If you are a mesothelioma victim, contact a specialized mesothelioma lawyer to obtain help and the monetary compensation you need and deserve to treat your disease.
