Daryll Clark threw for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Stephfon Green ran for 133 yards on nine carries and a TD and the #16 Penn State Nittany Lions (4-0) gathered 310 yards on the ground as they pounded the Temple Owls (1-3) 45-3 on Saturday.
After a scoreless first quarter the Penn State offense ignited in the second quarter as they put up 31 points as Clark threw two touchdown passes and added a third on the ground. Clark opened the scoring with a 20-yard toss to Brett Brackett and after Evan Royster scored on a 32-yard run Clark scored on an 11-yard sprint.
Temple finally got on the board in the third quarter when Jake Brownwell booted a 25-yard field goal but the Nittany Lions answered with a 69-yard touchdown run from Green.
The Penn State defense limited the Owls to just 133 yards of total offense, 15 of those yards were on the ground.
Penn State will open their Big Ten schedule next week with Illinois while Temple takes on Western Michigan.
