AP Top 25 College Football Scores: Colt McCoy Tosses Four TDs AS #7 Texas Longhorns Torch Rice

Colt McCoy was 19/23 for 329 yard yards passing and four touchdowns and added 83 yards and a TD on the ground while Jordan Shipley collected 155 yards receiving and two TDs as the #7 Texas Longhorns (3-0) racked up 600 yards of total offense to pound the Rice Owls (2-2) 52-10 on Saturday.

Rice actually put the first points of the game on the board with a 31-yard field goal from Clark Fangmeier in the first quarter but McCoy answered with a 8-yard TD run and then he tossed a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter, the first a 30-yarder to Shipley and the two hooked up on a 60-yarder for the second as Texas built a 24-3 lead at the break.

McCoy then connected on two touchdown passes in the third quarter as he hit Quan Cosby on a 5-yard score and then found Chris Ogbonnaya for a 46-yard TD with 3 seconds left in the frame.

By the fourth quarter the Longhorns just pounded the ball on the ground as John Chiles scored on a 26-yard run and Cody Johnson wrapped up the scoring with a one-yard burst.

Texas will next face Arkansas while Rice will play North Texas.
