Singer George Michael was arrested in London Friday after police found ‘Class A’ and ‘Class C’ drugs on him. The 45-year-old has not been charged.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard said, “A 45-year-old man male was arrested on September 19 in the Hampstead Heath area on suspicion of the possession of drugs. He was taken to a north London police station where he was interviewed and received a caution for possession of Class A and Class C drugs.”
Sources confirm that the “man” was Michael. According to reports, some of the drugs found on Michael was crack cocaine, which is a Class A drug in the U.K.
Michael, who lives in London with his longtime partner Kenny Goss, released a statement apologizing to fans. “I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I’ll sort myself out,” the statement said.
The singer is no stranger to drug arrests. He was arrested in 2006 twice; the first time for suspicion of having drugs and the second for drug possession. Michael was first arrested in 1998 for lewd behavior.
