percent to $749 million, or 98 cents per share, in the fiscal fourth quarter
ended September 30, compared with $506 million, or 67 cents per share a year
earlier.
Excluding items, Thomson Reuters calculates that Emerson earned 81
cents per share from continuing operations, 3 cents more than the average
estimate.
Revenue rose 14 percent to $5.84 billion, compared with Wall Street
forecasts for sales of $5.89 billion.
The company forecast total 2011 sales will rise 12 percent to 15
percent and operating profit margins above 2010's level.
Mueller
Water Products, Inc. (NYSE:MWA) went up 0.92% to $3.30. Last
week, the company posted a fourth quarter net loss of $7.0 million or $0.05 per
share, compared to a loss of $11.0 million or $0.09 per share in the same
period a year-ago.
Adjusted net income for the period was $0.2 million or breakeven
per share, compared to a net loss of $4.1 million or $0.03 per share in the
year-ago period.
