Atmel
Corporation (NASDAQ:ATML) added 0.30% to $10.17 after the maker of
computer chips used in home appliances last week reported third-quarter sales
that topped Wall Street’s expectations.
The stock went up more than 120% year-to-date.
Alcatel-Lucent
(ADR) (NYSE:ALU) jumped 1.62% to $3.14. In the three months to
Sept. 30, Alcatel-Lucent last week said that it earned 25 million euros ($35
million), or 1 European cents a share, boosted by an exceptional gain linked to
a change in retirement benefits of €18 million. In the year-earlier quarter the
company recorded a loss of €182 million, or 12 cents a share.
The firm reaffirmed its full-year outlook for an adjusted operating
margin of between 1% and 5% and said it anticipates a “significant sequential
increase” in revenue in the fourth quarter.
Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $2.25-$3.97.
At today`s closing market price, the market capitalization of the company stood
at $7.10 billion.
Skyworks
Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:SWKS) closed at $23.80. For the
July-Sept quarter, Skyworks last week said that it earned $46.8 million, or 25
cents a share, compared with $58.3 million, or 33 cents a share, a year ago.
Excluding items, it earned 43 cents a share, above analysts' view
of 40 cents a share.
Analysts were looking for earnings of 41 cents a share, before
items, on revenue of $326.9 million, according to Thomson Reuters.
Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $11.85-$24.68.
