Japanese Pop Sensation Performs as 3D Hologram

A YouTube video shows just how far technology has come.  Hatsune Miku, the character representing Vocaloid's voice synthesizer, has developed a large following in Japan.  Her fame even converts to live concerts, which are put on using 3D holographic technology.

In the live video for the song "Po Pi Po" she sings and dances on stage in front of crazed fans.  The fans sing along and wave glowsticks as the digitally rendered star sings and dances across the stage.
