NFL Football Scores Week 3: Michael Turner Carries Atlanta Falcons to Blowout Win Over Kansas City Chiefs

Michael Turner rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns, Matt Ryan was 12/18 passing for 192 yards and a TD and Roddy White had five receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown as the Atlanta Falcons (2-1) pounded the Kansas City Chiefs (1-2) 38-14.

After a slow start to the first quarter the Falcons got rolling as Turner scored on a 4-yard run and then Ryan hit White on a 70-yard TD as the Falcons took a 14-0 advantage into the second quarter. It only got worse for the Chiefs as Jason Elam kicked a field goal and Turner scored on a one-yard run to grab a 24-0 lead.

Kansas City climbed back to within 24-14 after a touchdown in the closing seconds of the first half and a one-yard touchdown run from Larry Johnson on their opening drive of the third quarter but Turner stopped their momentum with a 2-yard TD on Atlanta’s next possession.

Tyler Thigpen had a rough start taking snaps for the Chiefs as he tossed three interception on the day, his last was returned 10-yards for a touchdown by Chris Houston in the final minute of the game.
