4 year old boy fatally stabbed 36 times with scissors in front of pregnant mom

Dakota Lane, a 4-year-old Oklahoma boy, was viciously stabbed to death with a pair of scissors in a sadistic home invasion attack that has left his family devastated and the city of Muskogee stunned.

Dakota’s attacker, who stabbed the boy with a scissors 36 times while he slept, was identified as 18 year old Aaron Laconsello. His 6-year-old brother, also sleeping as the attack took place, was not harmed, Muskgee police told ABC NEWS  affiliate KMBC.com. Dakota later died at a local hospital.

Dakota's mother who is 8 months pregnant, fought in vain to ward off Laconsello's attack.

"It's just so senseless that a 4-year-old defenseless little boy, you know, would have to be brutally murdered like he was," said the boy's grandfather Jack Bumgartner.

Neighbors of the Lane family reported seeing Laconsello drinking heavily hours before the vicious attack, and several expressed pain, shock, and disbelief over the boy's death.

"There is no sense out of this at all. I mean, he's a 4-year-old, you know? They didn't even take anything. They just went in there and brutally killed him," said neighbor Deeana Gilbert

Prosecutors planned to charge Laconsello with first-degree murder, as local police expressed disbelief over the horrific crime. "In my entire career, I've never seen anything like this," Muskogee  police Cpl Pedro Zardeneta said
