FBI Searches Residence of the Son of Tennessee Democratic State Lawmaker in Sarah Palin Email Hacking Case

The FBI has searched the residence of David Kernell, the 20-year-old son of Tennessee Democratic state Rep. Mike Kernell, looking for evidence connected to the hacking of Republican vice-presidential candidate Sara Palin’s personal email account.

The elder Kernell has denied any involvement in the case but has remained silent when questioned about his son’s possible connection to the incident.

Last week Palin’s email account was hacked and several of her emails were published on the Internet. The individual who hacked into the Alaskan governor’s email identified their own email as one that has been linked to David Kernell.

According to the AP the hacker was able to identify security information used by Yahoo to protect the email account. The hacker then changed the password and then published the emails on several Web sites.
