Government Computer Network Systems Most in Need of Defragmentation Software, Eliminate Waste and Save through Protection
On
the city, state and federal level the government is entrusted with
tax-payers money to deliver a number of services through a variety of
departments.
As we have seen over the past several years there has been a greater
emphasis on tracking that money and monitoring how it is being spent.
With such watchful eyes government leaders now feel the pressure more
than ever to be financially responsible, accounting
for every dollar that they have been allocated.
What
this new level of accountability has brought is a stronger emphasis on
stretching those dollars and eliminating waste. One such way to stretch
those
dollars is by maintaining the integrity of existing assets, essentially
keeping them in the best shape possible through regular maintenance
thus eliminating the need for costly replacements.
In
many ways government has heard the demands for more responsible
spending as there have been a number of initiatives and practices put in
place that will
benefit a city, state or the country as a whole for a longer period
compared to programs of the past. What’s interesting about this is that
while the initiatives and practices are new, the manner in which they
are put into action often times rely upon a questionable
system.
This
questionable system is often overlooked, neglected or simply ignored
and if not addressed in a timely manner it will be extremely costly to
fix. No
matter what level of government you’re talking about the value of the
computer network system on which they operate cannot be underestimated.
To keep employees efficient those networks have to be healthy, to keep
programs running those networks have to be
reliable, to keep people informed those networks have to be capable of
delivering the message.
The
good news for the government is that the health, reliability and
capability of a computer network system doesn’t come from costly big
tech replacements
for their existing systems. Those qualities and characteristics of a
healthy computer network system can be put into place and maintained on
their existing hardware, thus extending their life and saving money.
It’s
important to understand what causes these computer network systems to
become a model of inefficiency, unreliability and underperformance; more
often
than not the cause is fragmentation. Over time this computer disease
simply destroys a networks speed and reliability and if left untreated
it can progress to a complete crash of the network, placing anything
that had been saved on the network in jeopardy.
Government
computer network systems are often susceptible to fragmentation due to
the sheer number of employees sharing that network. This is significant
because fragmentation is tied directly to how a hard drive saves and
stores files and on a computer network system that has a large number of
employees who access, make changes to and resave files on a daily basis
this can become problematic.
As
files on a computer network system continue to become fragmented the
pieces become strewn about the network; this can cause serious delays in
opening
files, trying to run programs or applications, working on the Internet
or even sending and receiving emails.
Unfortunately
it is not uncommon for these computer network systems to ultimately
crash as a result of the added burden placed on the hard drive from
fragmentation.
What this usually means is an expensive replacement and government
departments are in no position to try and justify an expense that could
be easily avoided.
The
ease by which fragmentation can be avoided is in the simplicity of
defragmentation software. By installing defragmentation software a
computer network
system will not only have the fragmented files repaired but the
software can prevent future cases of fragmentation as well. As a result
of defrag installation a network will also be returned to the speed at
which it should be operating as well as the reliability
it should be delivering.
Ultimately
defragmentation software is an essential piece to any government
computer network system as it will help ensure financial responsibility
by protecting
from the unnecessary expense of replacing the system. This in turn will
allow for the services and initiatives put in place by government to be
better carried out while keeping the tax-payers happy.
