Stocks Higher After Management Changes (PRGS, GCI, BWEN, AIZ)

Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ:PRGS) added 0.44% to $39.10. The company announced the appointment of Charles "Charlie" F. Wagner as executive vice president, Finance & Administration and chief financial officer (CFO), reporting to Richard D. Reidy, president and chief executive officer.   

The stock opened at $38.95 and is trading within the range of $38.77-$39.43. At current market price, the market capitalization of the company stands at $1.69 billion.

Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE:GCI) gained 1.58% to $12.87. The company announced that Paul Saleh has been named senior vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company.    

Over the past three months, the stock went up more than 1%.

Broadwind Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:BWEN) jumped 3.55% to $1.75. The company announced that Peter C. Duprey has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective December 1.

Duprey will also serve on Broadwind's board of directors. J. Cameron Drecoll, Broadwind's Chief Executive Officer, is retiring, but will provide technical advice and transition support under a consulting agreement.

At current market price, the market capitalization of the company stands at $187.10 million.

Assurant, Inc. (NYSE:AIZ) went up 0.84% to $35.29. The company announced the election of its vice chair, Elaine D. Rosen, 57, as the company's new chair of the board of directors, effective Nov. 12, 2010.  Ms. Rosen replaces Dr. John Palms, 75, who will remain on the board as a director until the company's annual meeting in May 2011.   

The stock opened at $35.12 and is trading within the range of $35-$35.60. At current market price, the market capitalization of the company stands at $3.76 billion.
