5 Dead In Horrific California Car Accident, Authorities Looking For Driver

California authorities are looking for the person who caused a fatal car accident Saturday in El Centro. Police say the driver of a gold Honda Civic passed a group of 12 motorcycles by crossing in to the oncoming lane. A Dodge Avenger swerved to avoid hitting the Honda, but hit the motorcycles head-on.

"The gold Honda Civic left the scene without stopping and police want to talk with that driver. We're looking for a 1995-2000 model year Gold Honda Civic,” said a spokeswoman for the highway patrol.

The driver of the Avenger is not being held responsible for the accident, but was detained for suspicious of DUI. Four motorcyclists and a passenger in the Dodge Avenger died at the scene. Six others were injured.
