Dallas Children’s Charities Donates $15,000+ in Toys, Laptops; Dallas Margarita Society’s Charity Ball Nov. 20

The Dallas Margarita Society, which operates as Dallas Children’s Charities (DCC), has donated $15,000 worth of toys to four Dallas-area charities.

DCC gave 11 pallets of toys to the Woodall Foundation; Plano Santa Group/Collin County Assistance Center; Christian Community Action; and Metrocare Services/Big Texas Toy Run. The charities will give the toys to children throughout the Dallas area during the holidays.

The group also provided four laptops to the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Medical Center for use by young patients. Children can check out the laptops while at the hospital.

“We’re getting an early start on giving this holiday season by providing toys for local charities to pass on to kids,” said Tony Strong for Dallas Children’s Charities. “It’s all leading up to the annual Dallas Margarita Society’s Charity Ball November 20.”

The Dallas Margarita Society will host its 34th annual Dallas Margarita Ball on Saturday, November 20, benefiting Dallas Children's Charities.

The ball is the world’s largest black-tie gala, attracting some 11,000 people each year. It is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.-1 a.m. at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, 400 N. Olive in downtown Dallas.

In 2009, The Dallas Margarita Society/Dallas Children's Charities raised nearly $1,000,000 for the benefit of charities which work directly with at risk children in North Texas, including over $200,000 in toys, almost $400,000 in additional in-kind donations, and $132,000 in corporate and individual sponsorships.  For more information go to www.dallasmargaritasociety.com or www.dallaschildrenscharities.org.

This year’s auction catalog is online for the first time, and includes travel and hotel packages, jewelry, art, furs, restaurant certificates, sports tickets and collectibles from some of sport’s most famous athletes.
