At Nations Trucks in
Sanford, Florida, the deal is simple: "Buy a truck, and get a free semiautomatic AK-47 assault
rifle thrown in at no charge"
"We wanted to come up with a promotion, that would stir interest," said general sales manager Nick Ginetta.
The used-truck shop has been marketing the free assault rifle promotion since Veterans, last Wednesday -- which was no coincidence said that businesses at the South Florida truck lot had tripled. "So many veterans have given so much for our right to bear arms," Ginetta said. "That's why I did it, when I did it."
The rifles aren't
actually given away on the spot, since state and federal law require those
obtaining firearms to pass firearms background checks. To facilitate the
weapons transfer, Ginetta is offering customers a $400 voucher to be used at a
local gun shop, where shoppers can purchase an AK-47 or the weapon of their
choice.
"I chose the AK-47, because I knew it would create a stir," said Ginetta "I knew the anti-gun crowd would be appalled."
The free gun deal ends November 30th.
