Robert Wagner Reveals Affair with Barbara Stanwyck in Memoir

Actor Robert Wagner has revealed that he had a 4-year affair with his ‘Titanic’ co-star Barbara Stanwyck. In his new memoir ‘Pieces of My Heart,’ Wagner reveals that he and Stanwyck met on the set of 1953’s ‘Titanic,’ when he was 22 and she was 45.

The media was not aware of the relationship but friends including Nancy Sinatra and Spencer Tracey were. “I would say she gave me self-esteem,” Wagner says of Stanwyck.

Their romance ended after 4 years. Wagner blames their busy work schedules and age difference for the split. “I would always have been Mr. Stanwyck and we both knew it,” Wagner wrote.

Wagner, now 78, was married to actress Natalie Wood from 1957 to 1962. He then married actress Marion Marshall in 1963. They divorced in 1970. Wagner and Wood were remarried in 1972. They stayed married until Wood's death in 1981.
