Chris "Beanie" Wells, Terrelle Pryor to Start for Ohio State vs. Minnesota

Chris "Beanie" Wells and Terrelle Pryor will both start Saturday as they open their Big Ten schedule at home against Minnesota.

Wells is playing in his first game since the opening game of the season. In that game against Youngstown State, Wells injured his right toe, forcing him to miss the next three games, including the highly-anticipated battle against USC. The Buckeyes were blown out 35-3 in Wells' absence.

In that game, Pryor made his national debut, becoming the only spark for the Buckeyes' offense. Pryor threw for 52 yards and ran for 40 yards, showing flashes of his dual-threat abilities.

Last week, Pryor played the majority of the game against Troy as senior Todd Boeckman was benched. Pryor completed 10-of-16 passes for 139 yards and four touchdowns, in addition to carrying the ball 14 times for 66 yards.

Both players entered their college careers with a lot of hype. Wells was ranked the No. 1 running back in the nation when he graduated from Hoban H.S. in Akron, Ohio in 2006. Terrelle Pryor was considered the best player overall this past year at Jeannette H.S. (PA).

Entering this season, Wells was considered a Heisman Trophy candidate, but the injury may have put a dent in his hopes. Wells still has eight games remaining in the regular season.
