Sirius
XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) dropped 1.46% to $1.35. The
company said this month that its third-quarter earnings were $67.6 million, or
a penny a share, compared with a loss of $151.5 million, or 4 cents a share, in
the year-ago period. Revenue rose to $717.5 million from $618.7 million.
Analysts polled by FactSet Research were looking for break-even
earnings, on average, with revenue of $719.1 million.
The company said it boosted its subscriber numbers by 1.3 million
over the past year, ending the recent quarter with 19.9 million subscribers.
The stock went up more than 125% year-to-date.
Starbucks
Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) went up 0.50% to $29.99. The company this month
said that it earned $399.3 million, or 37 cents a share, on the period – up
from $199.4 million or 20 cents a share, in the same quarter a year ago.
Looking ahead, Starbucks said that it now expects 2011 earnings to
be in a range of $1.41 to $1.47 a share, up from a previous view of $1.36 to
$1.41 a share.
Over the past 52-week, the stock had traded within the range of $20.95-$31.30.
At today`s closing market price, the market capitalization of the company stood
at $22.27billion.
CBS
Corporation (NYSE:CBS) fell 0.06% and closed at $16.20 after the
company this month said it earned 35 cents a share on an adjusted basis on
revenue of $3.3 billion in its third quarter, ahead of analysts’ estimates 46
cents per share on revenue of $12.01 billion.
The stock went up more than 15% year-to-date.
