Naked Man Standing on Ledge of Building Falls to Death after being Tasered by Cop

A New York City police officer has been placed on administrative leave after he used his Taser stun gun on a naked man who had been standing on the ledge of a building on Wednesday. After being tasered the naked man fell from the ledge and died after suffering serious head trauma when he hit the sidewalk ten feet below.

Witnesses on the scene said the police did little to prevent Inman Morales from falling and failed to provide any type of safety device below the ledge to ease his fall.

Morales was said to be mentally distraught and had threatened to commit suicide earlier in the day. In a video posted on the New York Post Web site Morales can be seen standing on the ledge swinging a fluorescent light bulb at officers below. An officer can then be seen tasering the 35-year-old who then looked to freeze up before toppling over the ledge.

In addition to the administrative leave penalty for the police officer who used the taser a lieutenant had his gun and badge taken by the New York Police Department.
