AP Top 25 College Football Schedule: USC Trojans Battle Oregon State Beavers on Thursday

USC Trojans (2-0) return from their bye week to take on Pac-10 rival Oregon State Beavers (1-2) on Thursday night at 9pm EST on ESPN.

The Trojans' last game was against then-#5 Ohio State in the most anticipated game of the college football season. Southern Cal blew out the Buckeyes, 35-3, after returning from a bye week before the game.

Mark Sanchez has been playing very well in his first year as the starting quarterback. With questions on offense, especially on the offensive line and receiving corps, Sanchez has led USC's offense into two huge wins.

Joe McKnight has led the bevy of Trojans running backs this year at "Tailback U". McKnight, who is reminiscent of former USC Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush, leads Southern Cal with 165 rushing yards. McKnight is joined by Stafon Johnson and C.J. Gable, among others, in the dangerous USC backfield.

On defense, USC's preseason stars have played up to the hype as linebacker Rey Maualuga and safety Taylor Mays are one of, if not, the best in the nation at their respective positions.

Oregon State is coming off of their first win of the season, defeating Hawaii 45-7. They too had a bye last week. Lyle Moevao is at the helm at quarterback and wide receiver Sammie Stroughter is back this season after missing all but one game last year due to injury.

Stroughter and Sammie Morales have become a formidable receiving duo for the Beavers and are joined by freshman running back Jacquizz Rodgers, who leads the team in rushing yards.
