Standard reported that Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co is in advanced talks to
buy Del Monte Foods Co. KKR offered $18.50 a share for Del Monte. An offer of
$18.50 a share would value the company at about $3.58 billion.
The
stock has average daily volume of 2.92 million shares. At current market price,
the market capitalization of the company stands at $3.34 billion.

inc. (NYSE:CRM) jumped 16.22% to $134.55. For the quarter
ended Oct. 31, the company reported net income of $21.1 million, or 15 cents a
share, compared with net income of $20.7 million or 16 cents a share for the
same period last year. Earnings on a non-GAAP basis would have been 32 cents a
share for the recent period.
Revenue grew 30% to $429 million.
Analysts were expecting earnings of 31 cents a share on revenue of
$409.8 million, according to consensus estimates from FactSet Research.

Stores Corp. (NYSE:ANN) went up 8.88% to $25.86. The company reported
that it earned 42 cents a share on a an adjusted basis on revenue of $505.3
million in its third quarter, topped
analysts’ estimates of 34 cents a share on sales of $492.8 million.
The company forecast fourth-quarter comparable sales rising in the
mid-to-high single digit.
The
stock opened at $25.94 and was trading within the range of $25.09-$26.12. The
stock made its new one-year high of $26.12.
